Jason Knight aka Jason Don-a-tan

Jason is a highly experienced keyboard player and frontman, who first played these 80’s tracks when they were in the chart! The death of the keyboards in the BritPop era was a sorry time for him, although he managed to sneak some piano into the second studio album of 90’s Rock revivalist Reef. Almost by accident (and without his beloved key-tar he found himself on Top of the Pops, Jules Holland and TFI Friday (Yes - he was partially responsible for 'It's your letters'), and then on a major world-tour culminating in headline gigs at V97 and Glastonbury.

Since then, he has worked with various singer/songwriters including Sam Obernik, Alonza Bevin (Kula Shaker), Dominic Greensmith (Reef), Leah Wood and poet Ian Wills. Most recently he has joined Freak Power for their reformation.

In September 2005 Jason was appointed Head of Live Performance at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music, and can currently be found working alongside Kieron Pepper (Prodigy), Ashley Slater (Freak Power), John Hogg (Moke, Hogg) and Martin Wright (Ronnie Wood, Hogg), putting hundreds of student musicians through their paces.
